Headquartered in Lee’s Summit, MO, API, Inc. reaches out across the country and overseas. Our clients range from Fortune 500 Tier IV data centers to “nuts and bolts” manufacturing plants.

We have steadily grown since our genesis in 2000 by steadfastly adhering to our core values of integrity and customer service. Many of the same clients we began with in 2000 still rely on us for their stationary battery needs.

Establishing and maintaining long term relationships with our clients has been the cornerstone of our success. We are extremely pleased and proud of the caliber of our client base. We are honored to know that they trust API with this vital portion of their critical power system.

Over time, we have emphasized our core competencies of battery sales, installation, maintenance, load testing and battery monitoring. This has placed us in a position to be of maximum service to our clients, and they know with one phone call they’ll have a solution to their battery problem.

We are an authorized dealer for the Alber line of battery monitoring system and EnerSys batteries, chargers and other accessories. API is also a proud Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and also has a GSA Schedule.

API was founded by Edward P. Rafter, who has over 25 years experience in electrical power systems including consulting, design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and testing. He has provided expertise and served as the lead electrical design engineer on multiple high reliability, mission critical projects including new and existing data center, telecommunication and medical facilities. Edward is a voting member of the IEEE Battery Standards Committee. He received his certification as a building commissioning professional from the University of Wisconsin.
