Load Capacity Testing Why should you load test your battery string(s)? Load testing a battery is similar to having a stress test conducted by your physician. You physician can listen to your heart and other vitals, but without putting you on a treadmill and watching how your body works under normal working conditions, he cannot absolutely guarantee your state of health without more analysis. A battery string is very similar to your body. It is an electro-chemical engine, that needs to be put under exercise to see it's true capacity and if it will support your critical load. As such, periodic preventative maintenance does not guarantee the performance of a DC battery system. Load testing in a controlled environment is the best way to verify the capacity of the battery string. API follows all IEEE standards and recommendations. We strongly recommend periodic load testing as a portion of a comprehensive battery maintenance program. The IEEE recommends load testing upon installation (commissioning) and periodically thereafter. Our staff has the experience, expertise and equipment to efficiently load test your DC battery system. We use proven Alber equipment to conduct your load test and capture the vital data needed to assess you battery's condition and capacity. Contact us anytime to learn more about load testing. |
