Battery Capacity (Load) Testing
What is Capacity (Load) Testing and why is it important? Load testing your battery is the ONLY way to determine how much life (capacity) you have in your battery system.
Load testing a battery is similar to having a stress test conducted by your physician.
You physician can listen to your heart and other vitals, but without putting you on a treadmill and watching how your body works under normal working conditions, he cannot absolutely guarantee your state of health without exercising your heart and monitor how it performs.
A battery load test is the same. Your battery is an electro-chemical device, that needs to tested regularly to verify its capacity and determine if it will support your critical load during a power outage.
As such, periodic preventative maintenance does not guarantee the performance of a DC battery system. Load testing in a controlled environment is the only way to verify the capacity of a battery.
API follows all IEEE standards and recommendations.
We encourage periodic load testing as a portion of a comprehensive battery maintenance program. The IEEE recommends load testing upon installation (commissioning) and periodically thereafter.
Our staff has the experience, expertise and equipment to efficiently load test your DC battery system. We use proven Alber equipment to conduct your load test and capture the vital data needed to assess you battery's condition and capacity.
